Iβve learned that setting KPIs aligned with the roadmap is important, but life (and projects) rarely go exactly as planned. Unexpected events always arise, just like new projects that suddenly appear outside the original roadmap.
The real challenge as a leader isnβt just hitting the KPIs, but itβs keeping the team aligned and motivated when things shift. Iβve seen how easy it is for people to feel lost when priorities change without context.
Thatβs why I believe the most important thing is constant communication. I make it a point to regularly update the team on whatβs going on, why some priorities are shifting, and how their work still connects to the bigger picture.
Because at the end of the day, KPIs arenβt the end of everything we measure; theyβre just a guide to where we want to go. What truly matters is helping the team see that their hard work and effort are adding up, bringing us closer to the goals and rewards they deserve.
